Activity Weekend:
Pot firing and site tours

Caroline Jackson and Jim Reid, from the University of Sheffield, carried out potfiring in an open bonfire - a technique which may have been common during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. A number of pots were successfully fired though some ended with explosive results!

Tours of the surrounding landscape and of the excavations were also extremely popular with our various tour guides, Doug, Anne-Marie and Dave were rushed off their feet. It's all go for the tour guides, as we received record numbers of visitors over the weekend:
