Site Diary: Trench 5

The soil profiles on trench five are now being recorded in detail prior to the removal of soil columns. These will be analysed in the lab to confirm whether or not the earthen bank was purposely built (perhaps from turves) or whether it developed through the more gradual accumulation of soil as a by product of land use and wind erosion in prehistory.
